About
Tiziana is a Maltese ceramicist who has been captivated by working with clay since the age of 11. Inspired by lessons with Maltese artist Anna Ciavola, [Name] was drawn to the versatile nature of clay and its boundless possibilities.
Largely self-taught, Tiziana has honed skills in studios across Edinburgh, East London, and Tallinn. A love for experimentation has led to the exploration of different techniques, glazes, and firing methods, including raku for sculptures and anagama for vases.
Now based in Berlin, she produces tableware for restaurants and cafes, as well as homeware items available in stores across Malta and Berlin. Recent collaborations with restaurants and food enthusiasts can be found on the Projects page, and shop locations are listed on the Stockists page.
Having worked in diverse environments and cultures, Tiziana has developed a unique style, confidence, and a deepened aesthetic sense. While the majority of the work is wheel-thrown, occasional sculptures, particularly wall pieces, also feature. Stoneware is the favored medium, and she custom mixes high-fire glazes to complement the material.
Each piece is unique, focusing on functional forms inspired by travels and nature. The influence of natural shapes, textures, and colors is evident in structure and glaze. All functional pieces are food and dishwasher-safe, though hand-washing and limited oven use are recommended to ensure longevity.
